Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lasse Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Chason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lasse Kongo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chase Chason! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chason wants to clinch but Kongo slips to the side and Kongo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kongo stuffs the takedown attempt from Chason. Chason gets slowly back to his feet. Chason looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Chason tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kongo controls his leg. Kongo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Chason. Chason looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Chason seems content to control. Chason wants to free his trapped foot but Kongo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chase Chason wasn't active enough on the ground. Chason closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kongo did well to prevent Chason getting side control. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chason in particular looking to stall. Chason tries to stand and escape but Kongo is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Chason seems content to control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chase Chason wasn't active enough on the ground. Chason misses with a double jab
and Kongo counters with a solid body kick. Chason throws a right and a left that both miss. Chason wants to clinch and Kongo counters with a body kick that stops Chason in his tracks momentarily. Chason fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chason tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kongo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Chason shoots in and drives through. Kongo sprawls well. Chason shoots in for a double leg but Kongo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lasse Kongo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chase Chason. Chason goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Lasse Kongo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Chason thows a leg kick but Kongo checks it and Kongo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Chason throws a head kick that misses and Kongo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kongo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Chason shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kongo as he jumps to the side. No joy there for Chason, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Chason shoots in but no luck this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chason is looking to land body kicks. Chason wants to clinch up but Kongo keeps it at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chase Chason dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Chason darts in trying to clinch and Kongo counters with a three punch combo that has Chason backing up. Chason nods at Kongo to acknowledge the strikes. No luck with that takedown attempt from Chason. Chason shoots in for a takedown but Kongo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Chason shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kongo defends it nicely. Lasse Kongo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chase Chason. Chason fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kongo sprawls well initially but Chason persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chason controlling the action here. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Chase Chason was stalling too much, according to the referee. Kongo stuffs the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chason wants to clinch and Kongo counters with a solid body kick. Chase Chason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chason changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kongo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kongo is pushing Chason's head away, looking to escape. Chason manages to hold on to the position though. The referee asks Chason politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Chason prefers to stall for the moment though. Kongo is trying to buck Chason off. Kongo managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Chason.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chason takes a little break here. Kongo wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Chase Chason was stalling too much, according to the referee. Chason just misses with a punch to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Chason fails in his attempt to clinch. Chason looks to score with a jab to the body but Kongo is just out of range. Chason tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kongo swats him away and circles back towards the center. Chason tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kongo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Chason swinging wildly here.

The fight stays on the outside here - Chason looks like he's thinking about clinching though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chase Chason showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Chason throws a combination that misses and Kongo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Chason shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Chason showed some decent athleticism there. Kongo is trying to stand back up but Chason is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round. Chason is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Chason decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Kongo slaps away a takedown attempt from Chason, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chason tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kongo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kongo tries to sprawl but Chason drives through with a takedown into half guard. Chason looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And that's the end of the fight! Chase Chason comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Chason has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
