Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Padraig Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexander Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov shoots in looking for a takedown but Murphy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Volkov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Murphy leaves Volkov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Murphy counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Volkov!
Padraig Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Volkov.
Murphy cracks Volkov with a big elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Volkov pushes Murphy away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Murphy gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Murphy cracks Volkov with a big right hand but Volkov just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murphy is chipping away with strikes.
Volkov gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Murphy loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Volkov scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Murphy land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Murphy stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Padraig Murphy!
