Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohamed Abdillahi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rasputin Mekk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mohamed Abdillahi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rasputin Mekk!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mekk shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Abdillahi napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mekk is staying tight to Abdillahi's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Mekk wants to control but Abdillahi is keeping him busy.
Mekk working away.

Mekk is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Abdillahi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Mekk just content to control the position.
Abdillahi is looking to regain half guard here but Mekk keeps moving and retains side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mekk working the ground and pound but Abdillahi is defending the strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mekk decides to stand up, so the ref orders Abdillahi to his feet.

Abdillahi shoots in and gets a takedown into Mekk's guard.
Abdillahi wants to stand but Mekk is controlling his posture from full guard.
Mekk throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abdillahi wants to pass the guard but Mekk is keeping the position.

Mekk had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Abdillahi defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mekk working a defensive guard here.
Mekk looking for a sweep. Not yet Mekk, not yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mekk can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mekk has control of Abdillahi's left arm, preventing Abdillahi from doing any damage.

Abdillahi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mekk looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mekk looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mekk!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mekk decides to stand back up. Mekk steps back and let's Abdillahi get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mekk tries to score a power double leg takedown but Abdillahi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mekk somewhat.

Mekk scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Mekk looks winded!
Abdillahi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mekk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Abdillahi wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Mekk working the ground and pound but Abdillahi is defending the strikes.
Abdillahi struggling a bit here.

Mekk goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Abdillahi rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mekk's guard! Nice work there by Abdillahi!

Mekk has his foot on Abdillahi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Abdillahi works his way back into a safe position though.
Mekk has control of Abdillahi's left arm, preventing Abdillahi from doing any damage.
Abdillahi trying to control but Mekk is working from the bottom.
Mekk is trying to control the position but Abdillahi postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Abdillahi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rasputin Mekk dominated that round.

Mekk clinches with his opponent.

Abdillahi pulls guard.
Abdillahi is trying to control the position but Mekk postures up.
Mekk lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Mekk trying to control but Abdillahi is working from the bottom.

Abdillahi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mekk working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mekk's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Abdillahi pushes Mekk off and gets back to his feet.

Abdillahi tries to close the distance and clinch but Mekk swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mekk fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Abdillahi to the ground. Mekk is now in Abdillahi's guard.

Abdillahi throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mekk escapes and throws Abdillahi's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mekk stands up.
Mekk tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Abdillahi swivels and escapes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mekk feints and as Abdillahi raises his hands in defense, Mekk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mekk content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mekk engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Abdillahi wants to stand but Mekk is controlling the position.
Mekk cracks Abdillahi with a solid left hand.

Abdillahi throws his legs up looking for a submission but Mekk uses it to pass to side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Abdillahi stops Mekk from passing to mount.
Mekk controls the position.
Let's hope that Mekk has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Rasputin Mekk has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mekk scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Abdillahi to see if he's OK.
Abdillahi managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Mekk.

Mekk stands up and beckons Abdillahi to his feet.
Mekk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Mekk gets a takedown into half guard.
Mekk thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Abdillahi's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Abdillahi is trying to control but Mekk manages to pass to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rasputin Mekk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Mekk drives through with a takedown into guard.
Abdillahi is looking to stand up but Mekk isn't so interested in that idea.
Abdillahi is trying to keep Mekk in close.
Abdillahi wants to get back to his feet but Mekk is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mekk passes into half guard.
Still in half guard, Mekk seems content to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mekk stands up and beckons Abdillahi to join him on the feet.
Abdillahi tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Mekk counters with a single leg into guard. Abdillahi didn't expect that.
Mekk controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Abdillahi trying to keep a closed guard but Mekk is proving a slippery customer.
Abdillahi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mekk is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Mekk works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Abdillahi wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Abdillahi is trying to stand.
Mekk is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Abdillahi with the active half guard here but Mekk passes nicely into side control.
A lull in the action here.

Mekk lands a few punches from side control.
Abdillahi is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Mekk is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Mekk fails to advance to Abdillahi's back.

Mekk is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Abdillahi to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Abdillahi shrugs it off.
Mekk scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Abdillahi tries to lock up and control but Mekk gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Abdillahi takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Abdillahi is bucking up trying to escape but Mekk cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Mekk sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Abdillahi tries to lock up and control but Mekk gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mohamed Abdillahi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rasputin Mekk is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rasputin Mekk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mekk has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
