PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ron Dennis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Brock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brock has chosen Balls Deep as his entrance music. Aaron Brock is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ron Dennis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aaron Brock!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dennis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dennis taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Brock avoids a wild elbow strike from Dennis.
Dennis drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
With the fighters up against the cage, Dennis throws an elbow but misses.
Dennis scores with a nice hook to the head.
Dennis lands with a light punch inside.
Brock is working for takedown but Dennis is calmly controlling the position for now.

Dennis drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Brock stopping the sweep attempt from Dennis.
Brock trying to control the position from guard on top but Dennis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brock looking to sit in guard and control but Dennis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Dennis content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brock is looking to stand up but Dennis isn't so interested in that idea.
Brock can't keep his opponent in guard - Dennis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dennis uses his free foot to push down on Brock's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Brock.
Dennis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Brock throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Dennis prevents Brock from getting the reversal.
Dennis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brock is looking to get to half guard.

Dennis wants to finish this one by submission but Brock is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dennis.
Brock working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dennis controlling from the full mount.
Brock is wriggling around trying to escape.
Brock wants to hold on but Dennis pushes him away.
Dennis looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dennis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ron Dennis dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Brock circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brock throws a leg kick but Dennis sees it coming and checks it nicely.

It looks like Aaron Brock has been cut.
Dennis checks the leg kick.
A head kick by Dennis - that's a beauty! Brock is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Dennis can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ron Dennis!
