PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Zapata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ringo Spar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zapata comes into the arena with Tres Delinquentes blaring out of the sound system. Spar has chosen i Get Knocked Down, But i Get Up Again as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spar lands a glancing blow to the side of Zapata's head.
A punch lands to the side of Spar 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Zapata tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spar was well out of range. Poor timing from Zapata.
Spar gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Zapata.
A jab from Zapata misses.
Zapata ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Spar connects with a body shot that sends Zapata's belly button to the back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Spar ducks under a wild hook from Zapata.
Zapata tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Spar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Zapata drives through and clinches with Spar against the cage.

Spar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spar lands with a nice body punch.
Spar uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Zapata.
Spar gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Spar misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Zapata.

Zapata waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Spar. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Spar to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Spar is rocked!

It looks like Ringo Spar has been cut.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Spar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Spar is still in real trouble! Can Zapata finish him?
Zapata throws a big right hand that misses.
Spar keeping moving, preventing Zapata from controlling successfully.

Zapata is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Spar is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Spar has escaped and now he's on top!

Zapata is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Spar defends well.
Spar seems to have recovered his senses.
Zapata manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Spar working to try and regain half guard.
Spar slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Zapata works his foot free and advances to mount.
Zapata lands a big elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zapata connects with a bit shot that sees Spar covering up! More strikes from Zapata and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Zapata is our winner by TKO!
