Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mathew Websky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Edgar! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edgar gets caught napping as Websky dives in and scores a takedown. Edgar manages to retain guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Edgar keeping moving, preventing Websky from controlling successfully. Edgar is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Websky pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Edgar is keeping the position for now. Websky trying to control but Edgar is working from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Edgar can do anything to dispel that myth.
We're going to have a standup here because Mathew Websky wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Edgar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Websky paws at him with a jab and circles away. Websky shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Edgar counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edgar closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Websky quickly recovers to half guard. Edgar prevents Websky from improving his position. Edgar wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Websky looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. It looks like Edgar is going to stand back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jake Edgar wasn't active enough on the ground. Edgar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Websky moves away. Websky tries to clinch there but Edgar circles away.
Websky moves into the clinch. Websky goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Edgar is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Edgar tries to work over Websky's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Websky breaks from the clinch.
Websky gets caught flat footed, as Edgar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Websky is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Edgar postures up.
Websky really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mathew Websky has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Edgar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Websky's guard. Websky trying to control the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Websky is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Websky is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jake Edgar will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Websky circles away from the clinch attempt.
Edgar throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Websky tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Edgar is in Websky's guard. Edgar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Websky looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jake Edgar wasn't active enough on the ground. Edgar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Websky. Edgar tries to clinch up. Some wild striking there from Edgar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Websky changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Edgar tries to avoid it but Websky manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Edgar to the ground. Edgar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Edgar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Edgar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Websky manages to get back to half guard. Websky is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Edgar's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Edgar's back! Edgar prevents Websky from getting a body triangle. Edgar should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Websky is persistently looking for the submission but Edgar is defending it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Edgar has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Websky has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Websky looking for the RNC. Websky is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Edgar won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Websky off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mathew Websky!
