Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joelmir Subzero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnie Yen!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Subzero fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yen avoids it really well and circles away.
Subzero fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Subzero takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Subzero thows a leg kick but Yen checks it
and Yen counters with a nice leg kick.
Yen stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joelmir Subzero. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Subzero walks forward, straight into a front kick from Yen.

Yen moves into the clinch successfully.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Yen.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Yen creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Subzero shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yen pinned against the cage. Yen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Yen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Subzero on his heels. He'll look to pass Subzero's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Subzero is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Yen is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Subzero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Yen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Subzero as he jumps to the side.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Yen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Yen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Yen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donnie Yen dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Subzero has a takedown stuffed.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Subzero. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Yen thuds his shin into the meat of Subzero's side.

Subzero closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Yen has his foot on Subzero's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Subzero works his way back into a safe position though.
Yen is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Subzero avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Yen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Subzero can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Yen keeping moving, preventing Subzero from controlling successfully.
Subzero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Yen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Yen is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Yen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Subzero has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Yen is looking to stand up but Subzero isn't so interested in that idea.

Yen is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Subzero has his hands clasped together but Yen extends and breaks Subzero's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Yen.
