PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gray Elbe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Landon Little (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Little has chosen Lion King - Circle of Life as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Gray Elbe had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gray Elbe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Landon Little!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Little lands a jab to the nose.
Elbe avoids a punch combination nicely.
Elbe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Little fails to land with a series of punches.
Elbe shoots in but no luck this time.
Little instigates a clinch.
Little putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Elbe in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Elbe is trying to pull guard but Little turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Little crunches a lovely knee into Elbe's ribcage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Elbe changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Little fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gray Elbe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Little lands a left and a right that send Elbe crashing to the mat, dazed. Little thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Elbe is rocked!
Little sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Elbe's defenses. It connects perfectly with Elbe's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Landon Little!
