Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Juan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clyde Monteforte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clyde Monteforte will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Juan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Clyde Monteforte!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juan scores with a leg kick.
Monteforte avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Monteforte stuffs the takedown attempt from Juan. Juan gets slowly back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Juan.

Juan clinches up with Monteforte and pushes him back against the cage.
Juan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Monteforte smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Juan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Juan feints and as Monteforte raises his hands in defense, Juan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Monteforte keeping moving, preventing Juan from controlling successfully.
Monteforte has a closed guard, preventing Juan from standing up.
Monteforte wants to stand but Juan is controlling the position.
Juan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Sean Juan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Juan tightens his grip and picks Monteforte up, before dumping him to the ground. Monteforte manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Monteforte can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Juan controls the pace.
Juan is looking to advance position but Monteforte has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Monteforte seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Juan doesn't manage to clinch there - Monteforte circles away.
Juan tries to land a front kick but Monteforte steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Monteforte gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Juan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Juan throws out a leg kick but Monteforte moves out of range and Juan only half commits.
Monteforte slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Juan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Monteforte sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Monteforte jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Juan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Juan feints and then cracks Monteforte's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Monteforte down.
Juan throws a head kick that misses.
Juan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Monteforte throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Juan.

Monteforte moves out of range as Juan throws a body kick.

and Monteforte counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Juan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Monteforte defends it nicely.

Monteforte scores with a decent looking hook.
The fight stays on the outside here - Juan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Monteforte blocks a head kick by Juan.
A jab lands there for Monteforte.
Juan throws a shot from downtown. Monteforte moves away and avoids it.
Monteforte cracks Juan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Juan shoots in and drives through. Monteforte sprawls well.
Juan wants to clinch but Monteforte slips to the side
and Monteforte counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Monteforte has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A head kick misses from Juan.
Juan throws a chopping leg kick but Monteforte manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Juan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Juan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Sean Juan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
