Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manoj Gowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drake Redflame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Manoj Gowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drake Redflame!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redflame tries to clinch up.
Redflame throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gowan's waist but Gowan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Redflame off to one side.

Gowan rushes Redflame and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Redflame wants to break the clinch but can't.
Redflame has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gowan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gowan has picked Redflame up - he's going for a ride! Gowan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Redflame won't allow Gowan to pass to mount.
Gowan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Gowan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Redflame to stand up.
Redflame doesn't manage to clinch there - Gowan circles away.
Redflame fails to land the takedown.
Manoj Gowan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drake Redflame.
Redflame looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gowan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Redflame looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Gowan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Redflame is not content to let Gowan control the position.
Gowan lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Redflame pushes Gowan off looking to stand but Gowan dives back in and keeps control.
Gowan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Gowan moves into full mount! Redflame won't be happy about that!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Redflame is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gowan has control of Redflame's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Redflame regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gowan tries to control but Redflame wriggling away.
Gowan cracks Redflame with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gowan fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Gowan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Redflame can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Gowan lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Gowan is breathing heavily.
Gowan is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Gowan wants to control the pace but Redflame is squirming around nicely.
Gowan prevents Redflame from getting the reversal.

Gowan cracks Redflame with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gowan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Redflame tries to hold on but Gowan pushes him away.

Gowan looking to secure an arm triangle but Redflame defends it well.

Redflame is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Gowan landing strikes, looking to finish!

Gowan has hold of Redflame's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Redflame manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gowan thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Redflame is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gowan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Redflame is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Gowan has control of Redflame's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Redflame regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gowan throws some wild stikes that Redflame manages to avoid easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Redflame doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Gowan counters by moving into the clinch.

Gowan turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Gowan moves into full mount!
BOOM! Gowan connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Gowan jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Redflame is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Redflame and Gowan has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Gowan is chipping away with strikes.
Redflame wants to get back to his feet but Gowan drags him back down.
Gowan lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gowan fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Redflame is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Redflame is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Gowan pulls his head out easily.
Redflame tries to kick Gowan off but Gowan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Ground and pound from Gowan.
Gowan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Redflame's head.
Redflame is looking to escape.

Gowan decides to return to a standing position.
Redflame fails with an attempt to clinch.
Redflame misses with an attempted mid kick.

Gowan has managed to clinch.
Gowan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Gowan has Redflame pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gowan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Redflame tumbling to the mat - Gowan dives into Redflame's guard.
Gowan postures up in Redflame's guard and throws a big left but Redflame blocks it.

Gowan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Redflame wants to stand but Gowan is controlling the position.

Gowan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gowan feints and as Redflame raises his hands in defense, Gowan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gowan stands up over Redflame, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Gowan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Redflame's head.
Redflame preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Redflame is working an open guard so Gowan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Manoj Gowan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Redflame.

Redflame tries to score a body lock takedown but Gowan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Redflame has momentary wrist control but Gowan slips an elbow through the middle.

Redflame had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gowan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Redflame Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gowan's back instead.
Gowan rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Redflame tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gowan.
Redflame wants to control but Gowan is keeping him busy.
Redflame is thwarting Gowan's attempts to control the position.

Gowan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Redflame's guard.

Redflame not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gowan connects with a couple of short punches.

Redflame looking for a guillotine here but Gowan defends easily.
Redflame utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gowan forces his way into half guard.
Redflame wants to get back to full guard.
