Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Moxson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis comes to the cage accompanied by Out Of Space by Prodigy. Moxson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sail by Awolnation. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Ellis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Moxson! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moxson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ellis to score an easy takedown into full guard. Ellis preventing the sweep. Ellis with a flurry of punches that miss. Moxson looking for a sweep. Not yet Moxson, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ellis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Moxson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ellis has passed into side control.
Ellis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Moxson is trying to improve his position. Who's going to make the next move? Ellis is looking to take a break and control but Moxson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Moxson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ellis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Moxson stops Ellis from passing to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moxson is looking for a sweep. Ellis postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Moxson holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Moxson tries to improve position but can't. Ellis misses with the ground and pound. Ellis working away. Ellis in side control, throwing shots but Moxson defends. Ellis trying to control the position but Moxson is working away. Moxson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Moxson struggling a bit here. Moxson throws Ellis to one side and escapes! Moxson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Moxson is trying to stand up here but Ellis is controlling him well. Ellis is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Moxson sees it coming and defends easily. Moxson is not content to let Ellis control the position. Ellis is working for an americana but Moxson has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Ellis was thinking about the submission. Ellis tries to free his leg and advance position but Moxson is retaining full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ellis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Moxson is pulling down on Ellis's head to control his posture. Moxson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ellis's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moxson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ellis wants to get back to his feet but Moxson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Moxson lands a couple of digs. Ellis trying to control the position.
Moxson controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ellis shoots in and gets a takedown into Moxson's guard. Ellis looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moxson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Ellis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Moxson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Moxson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ellis manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Moxson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ellis controlling Moxson's posture. Ellis is trying to control the position but Moxson postures up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Ellis wants to sweep here but Moxson controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Michael Ellis will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Moxson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ellis to the mat! Ellis manages to get full guard. Michael Ellis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Moxson sitting in guard here, content to control. Ellis can't keep his opponent in guard - Moxson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Moxson is figuring out what he wants to do next. Ellis works his way to full guard. Good work. Moxson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Moxson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Moxson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ellis keeping full guard, as Moxson tries to pass. Ellis is looking to stand up but Moxson isn't so interested in that idea. Moxson landing some decent shots from guard. Moxson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Ellis wants to get back to his feet but Moxson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ellis manages to get full guard. Moxson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ellis is looking to stand up but Moxson isn't so interested in that idea. Moxson content to stall in guard here. Ellis striking off his back but it's not causing Moxson any problems.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Moxson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Moxson shoots for a double leg takedown but Ellis sprawls well. He's pushed Moxson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Moxson shoots in for a double leg but Ellis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ellis feints and as Moxson raises his hands in defense, Ellis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Moxson seems keen to control Ellis's posture. Ellis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Moxson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Moxson pulls Ellis in close to prevent any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Moxson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
