Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jim Tilden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hideki Ryou!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Ryou. Those never looked like landing.
Ryou throws out a powerful jab.
Ryou swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ryou throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A nice leg kick lands there from Ryou.
Tilden rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ryou counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tilden thows a body shot but no joy.
Tilden shoots in but no luck this time.
Ryou throws a series of punches but Tilden moves out of range.
A jab from Tilden finds it's way through Ryou's defenses.
Tilden takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Tilden misses with a body shot
and Ryou counters with a thumping low kick.

Ryou closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Tilden tries to score a body lock takedown but Ryou shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tilden is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Tilden. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ryou lands with a left to the head.
Tilden has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ryou is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ryou stalling in the clinch.

Tilden has Ryou pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Tilden pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ryou tumbling to the mat - Tilden dives into Ryou's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Tilden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ryou swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tilden tries to free his leg and advance position but Ryou is retaining full guard.
Tilden is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jim Tilden just wasn't active enough.
Tilden misses with a hook. Ryou ducked under it nicely.
Ryou is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tilden misses with a body shot.
Tilden fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ryou manages to avoid it.
Ryou tries to bum rush Tilden with a series of wild strikes but Tilden uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ryou takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Tilden fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ryou fails with an attempt to clinch.

Tilden looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tilden takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Tilden wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Ryou gets caught napping as Tilden dives in and scores a takedown. Ryou manages to retain guard.
Tilden slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Tilden seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ryou for as long as he can get away with.
Tilden is pushing down on Ryou's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ryou is fighting to maintain full guard but Tilden has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tilden tries to pass to full mount but Ryou defends it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tilden content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tilden tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ryou knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tilden takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

We're going to have a standup here because Jim Tilden wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Tilden shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ryou defends it nicely.
Tilden jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Tilden clobbers Ryou with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Ryou looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryou won't allow Tilden to sweep him here.
Tilden pulls Ryou in to control the position.
Tilden might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hideki Ryou hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Ryou swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tilden counters with a nice body shot.
Tilden dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Tilden darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jim Tilden overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ryou looks like he's trying to stand up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ryou can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ryou is breathing heavily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tilden in particular looking to stall.
Tilden's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Tilden is pressing down on Ryou's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ryou is holding on for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Tilden wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Tilden throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ryou takes one on the button.

Tilden connects with a single shot there.
Tilden thuds his right hand into Ryou's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


Ryou is rocked!
It's a brutal combination of punches from Tilden! Ryou is backing up but he can't get away as Tilden lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Ryou and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jim Tilden!
Jim Tilden decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
