The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Cox has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Cox there as he acknowledges the shot.
Cox gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Emelianenko counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cox misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cox fails with the takedown
and Emelianenko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cox gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Emelianenko counters with a left to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Homer Cox. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Emelianenko batters Cox with a massive right followed by a huge left! Cox is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Emelianenko lands a final crushing right hand to drop Cox to the mat with a gruesome thud! Emelianenko is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
