The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markman gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Anderson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Markman circles away quickly and effectively.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Markman. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Markman bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Anderson's head backwards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Markman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Anderson's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steve Markman.
I think Anderson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
