Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ramazan Emlek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mamed Khalidov!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalidov tries to clinch there but Emlek circles away.
Khalidov dives in and grabs Emlek's left leg, looking for a takedown. Emlek pushes down on Khalidov's head and hops out.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Emlek.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Khalidov is defended easily by Emlek.

Emlek clinches with his opponent.

Emlek has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Khalidov clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Emlek is trying to stick to Khalidov's back but Khalidov is turning into Emlek. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Emlek's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Khalidov.

Emlek has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Khalidov wants to control from the top but Emlek keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Khalidov counters with a head kick.
Khalidov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Emlek has managed to clinch.

Emlek pulls guard successfully.

Emlek working for a triangle but Khalidov defends it easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mamed Khalidov was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Khalidov counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Emlek!

Emlek looks like he's trying to stand up.

Emlek has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Khalidov is working away from the top position though.

Emlek is trying to get back to full guard.
Khalidov tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Khalidov tries to pass to full mount but Emlek defends it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khalidov trying to control the action but Emlek is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Emlek shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Khalidov defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ramazan Emlek will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


No joy there for Emlek, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Khalidov tries to clinch but Emlek is having none of it.
Khalidov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Emlek pivots, looking for a leg kick but Khalidov is out of range and Emlek settles back down.

Emlek has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Emlek tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Khalidov swivels and escapes.
Khalidov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Emlek.

Emlek goes for a takedown attempt but Khalidov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Khalidov shoots in and drives through. Emlek sprawls well.
Emlek avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Emlek shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Khalidov pinned against the cage. Khalidov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Khalidov working for submissions but it's allowed Emlek to get to half guard.
Emlek knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Khalidov on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Emlek throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Emlek closes the distance and clinches up with Khalidov, looking for a takedown. Emlek pushes Khalidov against the cage but Khalidov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Emlek will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Khalidov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Emlek defends it nicely.
Emlek throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Emlek closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Emlek is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Khalidov is defending well.
Khalidov gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Emlek.

and Emlek holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Khalidov is trying to pull guard but Emlek turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Khalidov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Emlek escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Emlek shoots in for a double leg but Khalidov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Emlek throws a head kick that misses
and Khalidov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Emlek instigates a clinch.
Emlek tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Khalidov just stands there and leans against the cage.

Emlek pulls guard effortlessly.
Khalidov postures up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Emlek throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Khalidov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Khalidov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Emlek could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ramazan Emlek overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Emlek is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Khalidov is aware though and is defending well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Emlek jumps guard but Khalidov stands there with Emlek around his waist. Emlek gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ramazan Emlek showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Emlek has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
