Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazimierz Deyna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roberto Fantuzzi!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fantuzzi takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Fantuzzi stuffs the takedown.
Fantuzzi keeps the fight on the outside.
Fantuzzi cracks Deyna with an open hand slap.
It looks like Kazimierz Deyna has been cut.
Deyna tries to close the distance and clinch but Fantuzzi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Deyna throws a sloppy head kick and Fantuzzi moves out of range easily.
Deyna tries to clinch up
and Fantuzzi counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Deyna wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fantuzzi has him pressed against the cage.
Fantuzzi tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Deyna's elbow.
Deyna wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Deyna has had enough of the clinch but Fantuzzi keeps him there for the moment.
Deyna tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Fantuzzi is looking to take this one to the mat.
Deyna blocks a body shot from Fantuzzi.
Fantuzzi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fantuzzi looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Kazimierz Deyna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantuzzi cracks Deyna with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Deyna darts in and clinches Fantuzzi up against the cage.
Deyna slows down the pace here.
Fantuzzi misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Deyna.
Fantuzzi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Deyna manages to break the clinch.
Deyna tries to close the distance and clinch but Fantuzzi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fantuzzi lands with a cross.
Deyna takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Fantuzzi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fantuzzi lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Deyna goes down and covers up as Fantuzzi starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roberto Fantuzzi!
