Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Delong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent comes into the arena with Rooster by Alice In Chains blaring out of the sound system. Marcus Kent has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Kent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Delong! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kent tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Delong swivels and escapes. Delong throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kent counters with a stiff right hand. Delong gets caught flat footed, as Kent shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Delong is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Delong has his feet on Kent's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. A looping hook to the body misses from Delong. Kent does a little dance to reset his feet. Delong stuns Kent with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Delong swinging wildly here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Delong looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Delong scores with a one two! Kent had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Delong misses with a few strikes there.
No luck for Kent with that takedown attempt. Kent shoots in looking for a takedown. Delong tries to sprawl out of it but Kent keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Delong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Kent. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kent shoots in and gets a takedown into Delong's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent stops Delong from standing up. Delong looks winded! Kent postures up in Delong's guard and throws a big left but Delong blocks it. Kent wants to control from the top but Delong keeps moving. Kent is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Delong is looking to stand up but Kent isn't so interested in that idea. Delong is working an open guard so Kent takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. A combination from Delong does no damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Delong looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Adam Delong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Kent with that takedown attempt. Delong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kent shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kent was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Delong keeps working. Kent decides to stand back up. Kent steps back and let's Delong get back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kent shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Delong is trying to defend but Kent finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kent is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Delong defends it well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kent is looking to take a break and control but Delong is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Delong is looking to escape.

Kent scores with a takedown into Delong's guard. Marcus Kent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Delong wants to stand up but Kent is controlling him. Delong is breathing heavily. Kent wants to control from the top but Delong keeps moving. Kent prevents Delong from getting back to his feet. Delong keeping moving, preventing Kent from controlling successfully. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kent has gone for a leg lock! Delong slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kent's guard. Delong stands and steps away. Kent gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kent ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kent no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Kent controlling the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Delong wants to get up but he can't break Kent's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Marcus Kent just wasn't active enough. Kent ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Delong moves away. Delong throws a left and a right that both miss

Marcus Kent has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Kent feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kent trying to control the position from guard on top but Delong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kent wants to pass the guard but Delong is keeping the position. Kent passes Delong's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Kent is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Marcus Kent! Marcus Kent decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
