Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Hayze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Swift (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Swift!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hayze closes the distance and clinches.
Hayze tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Swift just stands there and leans against the cage.

Swift escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hayze decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Swift is controlling Hayze's trapped leg to prevent Hayze from advancing to side control.
Hayze scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Swift is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hayze's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hayze's back!

Hayze has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hayze could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hayze is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Swift's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Swift's back!
Swift covers up after that shot from Hayze.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hayze is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Swift. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Hayze. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

You can see the frustration on Swift's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Swift can do anything to dispel that myth.

Swift bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hayze's guard.

It looks like Chuck Swift has been cut.

Hayze can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Swift is looking to escape.

Hayze is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Swift has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Swift!

Swift drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hayze looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hayze looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hayze!

Swift takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Swift is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Swift is looking to get back to full guard here but Hayze has managed to pass to side control instead.
Swift tries to reverse the position but Hayze maintains control.
Swift wants to control but Hayze is having none of it.

Hayze moves into full mount! Swift won't be happy about that!

Hayze is trying to control the action in half guard but Swift is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Swift tries to get to full guard but Hayze has control of the leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hayze tries to clinch but Swift is having none of it.
Hayze gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Swift counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hayze's guard now.
Chuck Swift has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hayze is trying to keep Swift in close.
Hayze wants to sweep but no luck.
Swift trying to control but Hayze is working from the bottom.
Hayze is pulling down on Swift's head to control his posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Chuck Swift will probably get the nod - 10:9.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Hayze is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Swift takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hayze distracts Swift with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Hayze tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hayze has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hayze trying to control the action but Swift is working from the bottom.

Hayze decides to stand up, so the ref orders Swift to his feet.

Swift goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hayze rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Swift's guard! Nice work there by Hayze!
Hayze pushes down on Swift's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Hayze wants to control but Swift is keeping him busy.
Hayze working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Hayze uses his free foot to push down on Swift's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Swift.

Hayze can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Swift is looking to escape.
Hayze is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Swift is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Swift takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Will Hayze showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Hayze has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
