Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Georgofferson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jok Douhl!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douhl misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Georgofferson really is a fat lump.
Georgofferson takes one on the button.
Georgofferson blocks a head kick by Douhl.
Sloppy strikes from Georgofferson. Those never looked like landing.
Douhl tries to clinch up

and Georgofferson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Douhl is not content to let Georgofferson control the position.
Georgofferson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Douhl taking some punishment here, with Georgofferson in his half guard.
Douhl is looking to get back to full guard here but Georgofferson has managed to pass to side control instead.
Georgofferson staying calm.
Georgofferson tries to stand but Douhl is controlling his head.

Douhl wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Douhl is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Douhl tries to bench press Georgofferson off him but Georgofferson keeps the position.
Douhl is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Georgofferson works to advance to full mount. Douhl defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Douhl is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Georgofferson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Douhl lands a head kick. Georgofferson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Douhl ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Georgofferson moves away.
Douhl looks to throw the jab but Georgofferson is out of range.
Georgofferson tries to clinch up.
Georgofferson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Douhl circles away.
Georgofferson blocks a head kick by Douhl.
Douhl misses with a head kick.
Jok Douhl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Douhl looks winded!
Douhl throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Georgofferson throws a low kick but Douhl moves out of range easily.
Georgofferson is looking to clinch.
Douhl throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Georgofferson's head.
Georgofferson works over Douhl's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Jok Douhl has been cut.

Georgofferson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Georgofferson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Georgofferson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Georgofferson cracks Douhl with a big elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Georgofferson in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Douhl wants to get back to his feet.
Georgofferson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Douhl is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Georgofferson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Georgofferson is looking to take a break and control but Douhl is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Douhl pushes Georgofferson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Georgofferson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Douhl is trying to control Georgofferson's posture but Georgofferson avoids it.

Georgofferson has an Americana. Douhl didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Georgofferson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Georgofferson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Chuck Georgofferson!
