Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anders Breivik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thu Pham! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Breivik fails to land the takedown. Breivik fails with a takedown attempt. Breivik blocks a jab. Breivik gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pham counters with a good, hard body kick but Breivik shrugs it off. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anders Breivik. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pham throws out a powerful jab. Breivik shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Breivik was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Pham tries to buck Breivik off but Breivik is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Breivik working the ground and pound but Pham is defending the strikes. Pham can't do much from the bottom here. Pham is looking to reverse the position. Pham is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Pham is looking to reverse the position. Breivik controlling from side mount. Pham wants to control but Breivik postures up. Pham is looking for a sweep. Breivik working the head with strikes. Breivik working the ground and pound. Breivik landing a few strikes.
Pham is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Breivik misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Pham is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Pham is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pham gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Pham is defending against the submission attempts here by Breivik.

The fighters are battling for position here. Pham manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Pham trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pham bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Breivik's guard. Pham postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Breivik holds on and takes a little breather. Pham drops back, looking for a kneebar! Breivik looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Breivik looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Breivik!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pham struggling a bit here. Breivik working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Pham can't do much from the bottom here. Breivik scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pham to see if he's OK. Pham is still in real trouble! Can Breivik finish him? Breivik is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pham is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Pham seems to have recovered his senses. Pham tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Breivik wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pham on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Breivik scores with punches from side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Breivik cracks Pham with a big right hand but Pham just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Breivik is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pham has escaped the position, nice work there. Pham keeps Breivik under control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pham is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Pham takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Breivik scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Pham is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Breivik can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anders Breivik! Anders Breivik was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
