PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silent Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob has chosen Jungle Love- Morris Day And The Time as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Silent Bob!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A jab from Bob does it's job there.
Mir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bob tries to avoid it but Mir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bob to the ground. Bob escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bob slaps away a takedown attempt from Mir, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bob misses with a body kick.
Bob swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bob tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mir shoots for a double leg takedown but Bob sprawls well. He's pushed Mir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bob scores with a jab. Mir acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Bob stuffs the takedown.
Mir looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mir misses with a takedown attempt - Bob sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mir shoots in and bounces Bob off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mir wants to control from the top but Bob keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mir is really struggling to control Bob but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Mir postures up.
Bob wants to stand up but Mir is controlling him.
Mir is looking to work some ground and pound but Bob has wrist control.
Mir trying to control but Bob is working from the bottom.
Bob is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Frank Mir.
Bob lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Bob misses with a body kick.
Bob connects with a looping right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bob walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mir checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Mir walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.


It looks like Frank Mir has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bob throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Sloppy strikes from Mir. Those never looked like landing.
Bob lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bob feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mir's calf.

Bob sends Mir crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Bob is motioning to the referee to let Mir up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Mir is rocked!
Bob lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mir's sensitive parts.
Oh Mir is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mir is breathing heavily.
Bob lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Mir - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Bob!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Silent Bob!
A very excited looking Silent Bob made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
