Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Willard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Evangelista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nick Willard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marcos Evangelista!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evangelista closes the distance looking to clinch

and Willard counters by clinching up.

Willard has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Evangelista uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Willard tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Evangelista drops back, looking for a kneebar! Willard looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Willard looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Willard!

Willard postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Evangelista to stand up.

Evangelista tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Willard manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Willard shoots for a takedown but Evangelista saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Evangelista is looking to control Willard's arms but Willard gets an underhook and turns him. Now Evangelista has his back to the cage.

Willard tightens his grip and picks Evangelista up, before dumping him to the ground. Evangelista manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Evangelista drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Willard is trying to drag Evangelista to the mat but Evangelista just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Willard wants the takedown. Evangelista is fighting it off but Willard persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Evangelista's guard against the cage.

Evangelista is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Willard pulls his head out easily.

Willard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Evangelista defends it well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Evangelista is looking to clinch but Willard is avoiding it.

Willard is trying to trip Evangelista. He has hold of a leg but Evangelista is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Willard persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Willard has hold of Evangelista's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Evangelista manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
