Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pawel Ufcowski jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Cozad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ufcowski jr's entrance music is Slipknot - Duality . A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Pawel Ufcowski jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Charles Cozad! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cozad takes one on the button. Cozad tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ufcowski jr swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ufcowski jr takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Cozad lands with a good body shot. Ufcowski jr swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Cozad using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ufcowski jr has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cozad prevents a body shot from Ufcowski jr. Ufcowski jr blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Ufcowski jr can't find room to land a body shot as Cozad controls the action.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Ufcowski jr is trying to maintain the position but Cozad is very close to passing his half guard.

Ufcowski jr jumps guard and drags Cozad to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Ufcowski jr trying to keep a closed guard but Cozad is proving a slippery customer.

Cozad has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ufcowski jr is proving hard to escape from. Ufcowski jr wants to sweep here but Cozad controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cozad trying to control the position from guard on top but Ufcowski jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Ufcowski jr can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cozad controls the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cozad tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ufcowski jr swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cozad uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ufcowski jr.
Cozad takes a shot right to the bread basket. Cozad shoots and misses and Ufcowski jr counters with a takedown into side control. Cozad is looking for a sweep. Cozad controls the position for a moment. Ufcowski jr trying to control the position but Cozad is working away. Cozad sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Ufcowski jr winds up and cracks Cozad with a swinging punch to the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ufcowski jr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cozad keeps working.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cozad is looking for a sweep. Ufcowski jr is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pawel Ufcowski jr will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ufcowski jr throws a leg kick and Cozad counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ufcowski jr is lucky that one didn't land flush. Cozad tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ufcowski jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cozad somewhat. Pawel Ufcowski jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ufcowski jr avoids the head kick by Cozad.

Ufcowski jr shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Ufcowski jr throwing shots but Cozad is blocking nicely. Cozad is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Cozad is looking to control Ufcowski jr's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cozad avoid being mounted? Cozad is looking for a sweep. Ufcowski jr is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ufcowski jr is working for a kimura but Cozad is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cozad is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Cozad is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ufcowski jr's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ufcowski jr's back! Ufcowski jr is really stuck here.

Cozad working for a choke but Ufcowski jr is defending well. Cozad is looking for a rear naked choke here but Ufcowski jr reverses the position brilliantly into Cozad's guard!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ufcowski jr's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Cozad is trying to control the position but Ufcowski jr postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ufcowski jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cozad works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ufcowski jr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Cozad looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ufcowski jr puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Cozad is refusing to be controlled, as Ufcowski jr sits in half guard. Ufcowski jr trying to control from Cozad's half guard. Cozad has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Ufcowski jr lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Cozad is pulling down on Ufcowski jr's head to control his posture. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ufcowski jr stopping the sweep attempt from Cozad. Ufcowski jr throws an elbow that misses. OK we're going to have a standup here. Charles Cozad hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Ufcowski jr closes the distance and clinches up with Cozad, looking for a takedown. Ufcowski jr pushes Cozad against the cage but Cozad circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ufcowski jr gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ufcowski jr dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Ufcowski jr lands a right hand. Cozad misses with a knee to the head. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Ufcowski jr is trying to maintain a safe position but Cozad gets an underhook and turns Ufcowski jr into the cage. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Pawel Ufcowski jr. Ufcowski jr throws a looping overhand right but Cozad ducks down to avoid it. Ufcowski jr moves into range and connects with a jab. No luck for Cozad with that takedown attempt. Ufcowski jr shoots in looking for a takedown but Cozad manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ufcowski jr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pawel Ufcowski jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ufcowski jr lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Ufcowski jr throws a body punch but Cozad moves out of range. A left lands for Ufcowski jr. Cozad needs to keep his hands up - Ufcowski jr had a free shot at his head there. Ufcowski jr dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cozad misses with a double jab.

Ufcowski jr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ufcowski jr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that's the end of the fight! Pawel Ufcowski jr showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ufcowski jr has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today.
