Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Barry shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Barry stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
Barry misses the shot to the body.
Barry looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Barry connects with a looping right hand.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Barry sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Barry comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Barry scores with a one two! Johnson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Barry looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.
Barry scores with a crisp jab that stopped Johnson in his tracks.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Barry manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Johnson moves to clinch but Barry breaks away
and Barry counters with a straight right hand.
Johnson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Johnson needs to keep his hands up - Barry had a free shot at his head there.

Johnson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Barry quickly recovers to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Barry can do anything to dispel that myth.
Barry looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Barry is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Barry avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Barry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson postures up and lands a big shot to Barry's brow.
Barry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Johnson lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson throws a big right hand that misses.
Barry is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Johnson dives into side control.
Barry wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson wants to stand but Barry is controlling his arm.
Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Barry is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Johnson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Barry is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Johnson yanks on the arm and Barry is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Johnson.
