Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Richard Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jahn Blom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jahn Blom was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Price shoots in and bounces Blom off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Price trying to control but Blom is working from the bottom.
Blom is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Price wants to control from the top but Blom keeps moving.
Blom is pulling down on Price's head. It's preventing any offense from Price, at least for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Richard Price.

Price shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Price was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Blom shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Price's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Price is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close round but I would say that Richard Price will probably get the nod.

Price fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Blom sprawls well initially but Price persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jahn Blom hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Price tightens his grip and picks Blom up, before dumping him to the ground. Blom manages to land in guard.

Blom might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Price haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
