Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fred Shudley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Van Staden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fred Shudley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johan Van Staden! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crunch! Van Staden slams his shin into Shudley's torso. Shudley lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Van Staden tries to clinch up. Shudley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Shudley scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Van Staden doesn't seem bothered though. Shudley goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Van Staden is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Van Staden misses with a jab, cross combination.
Van Staden is still on wobbly legs! Can Shudley finish him? Van Staden tries a head kick but it misses.
Shudley lands a right hook to the body.
Van Staden seems to have recovered his senses. Shudley clinches. Van Staden wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Shudley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Shudley throws a sloppy head kick and Van Staden counters with a body kick that stops Shudley in his tracks momentarily. Van Staden tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shudley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Shudley bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Van Staden's head. Shudley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Van Staden is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Van Staden drops Shudley with a beautiful combination! Shudley stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Van Staden is looking for the KO! Fred Shudley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Van Staden tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shudley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Van Staden misses with a head kick.
Shudley comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shudley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Van Staden tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shudley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Shudley moves into range and clinches up with Van Staden. Van Staden tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Van Staden is trying to pull guard but Shudley turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Van Staden throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Shudley blocks it with crossed arms. Shudley gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Van Staden looking to throw knees to the head but Shudley is blocking nicely.
Van Staden wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shudley has him pressed against the cage. Shudley is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Shudley as Van Staden tries to tie him up. Shudley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Van Staden is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Staden takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Van Staden tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Van Staden drives through and clinches with Shudley against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shudley blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Van Staden working hard to break the clinch. Shudley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Shudley lands a big head kick that sends Van Staden tumbling to the mat! Shudley takes a step backwards and waves Van Staden back to his feet - he wants the finish! Shudley throws an overhand right that drops Van Staden like a sack of potatoes! Shudley dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fred Shudley!
