Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Gonzales looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Gonzales ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Powell ! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzales fails with a takedown attempt. Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign! Powell gets a takedown into half guard. Powell is looking to advance position but Gonzales won't allow it. Powell wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Gonzales uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Powell tries to free his leg and advance position but Gonzales is retaining full guard. Powell showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Powell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gonzales . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzales looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Powell gets to his feet - Gonzales follows without any prompting.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab from Gonzales misses. Gonzales misses with a wild body shot. Powell clinches. Powell effectively controlling the action here. Powell stops a takedown attempt from Gonzales .
Powell jumps guard.
Powell striking off his back but it's not causing Gonzales any problems. Powell trying to control the position.
Gonzales wants to stand but Powell has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Powell keeping moving, preventing Gonzales from controlling successfully. Powell working for a triangle but Gonzales defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonzales is looking to stand up but Powell won't let him. Powell is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Powell trying to control the position.
Gonzales passes Powell 's left leg - he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Powell dominated that round. That's time! Gonzales 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gonzales looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Powell is fending him off so far but Gonzales persists. Nope, Powell circles away and we're back to standing. Powell keeps the fight on the outside. Powell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Powell showed some decent athleticism there. Powell prevents Gonzales from improving his position. Powell lands strikes from half guard. Gonzales might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gonzales actively working from the bottom here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gonzales looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Powell is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Powell slows the pace down in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzales wants to get back to his feet.
Powell is controlling the pace.
Powell missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powell is trying to control the action in half guard but Gonzales is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Scott Powell has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Gonzales fails in his attempt to clinch. Gonzales shoots in but no luck this time. Gonzales closes the distance and clinches up with Powell , looking for a takedown. Gonzales pushes Powell against the cage but Powell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Gonzales . That's going to take a lot out of him. Gonzales closes the distance but Powell moves to the side and Powell counters with a shoot takedown. Gonzales fights it but they end up in guard. Gonzales wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Powell is now in half guard. Powell is thwarting Gonzales 's attempts to control the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gonzales can't escape the position.
Scott Powell has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Powell working for a submission but Gonzales is keeping him at bay. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Powell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Powell fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gonzales shoots in looking for a takedown but Powell manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gonzales 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Powell throws a leg kick but Gonzales sees it coming and checks it nicely. Powell leaves Gonzales with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gonzales drives through and clinches with Powell against the cage.
Powell tries for a takedown. No joy.
Gonzales jumps guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzales is trying to control the position but Powell postures up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gonzales looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gonzales is trying to keep Powell in close.
Gonzales has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Powell is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gonzales . Gonzales wants to control but Powell postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powell swings around for an armbar but Gonzales sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Powell 's guard. Powell managing to control the position. Gonzales postures up.
Gonzales stands and throws Powell 's legs to the side, diving into side control. Powell is looking to reverse the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Powell can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonzales decides to stand back up. Gonzales steps back and let's Powell get back to his feet. Gonzales displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Powell . Tommy Gonzales has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Powell . Powell darts in and clinches Gonzales up against the cage. Gonzales jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Powell walks away with a smile on his face. Gonzales gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Powell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gonzales looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Gonzales trying to control the position from guard on top but Powell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonzales throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Powell works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gonzales wants to control from the top but Powell keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Tommy Gonzales just wasn't active enough. Powell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Powell tries to clinch up.
And that's the end of the fight! Tommy Gonzales showed his dominance in that final round. I think Powell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
