Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Powell will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales avoids the head kick by Powell.
Gonzales really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Powell tries to clinch but Gonzales moves out of range.
Powell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Powell shoots in and drives through. Gonzales sprawls well.
Gonzales misses with the combination.
A punch lands to the side of Powell 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Powell swats away the attempt to clinch by Gonzales .
Powell pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Gonzales counters by moving into the clinch.
Jacob Gonzales has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Powell.
Gonzales stalls.
Gonzales goes for a takedown attempt but Powell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Powell fails in his attempt to clinch.
Powell wants to clinch.
Gonzales circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gonzales closes the distance and clinches up with Powell, looking for a takedown. Gonzales pushes Powell against the cage but Powell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Powell stuffs the takedown attempt from Gonzales . Gonzales gets slowly back to his feet.
Powell wants to clinch

and Gonzales counters by clinching up.
A frustrated look appears on Gonzales 's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Powell throws an elbow that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Powell has picked Gonzales up - he's going for a ride! Powell dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gonzales is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Powell trying to control from half guard but Gonzales is working away.
Gonzales pushes Powell off looking to stand but Powell dives back in and keeps control.
Powell wants to pass the guard but Gonzales is defending well.
Gonzales wants to control but Powell is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gonzales moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gonzales wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Gonzales will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Powell is stalling in the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gonzales stuffs the takedown attempt from Powell. Powell gets slowly back to his feet.
Powell looks winded!

Gonzales shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Powell napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gonzales trying to control the position but Powell is working away.
Powell looking for a sweep but Gonzales has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Gonzales controlling from the full mount.
Gonzales fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Gonzales can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Powell is looking to escape.
Powell wants to control but Gonzales is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gonzales is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Powell is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Powell flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gonzales anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Powell and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gonzales slips an arm under Powell chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gonzales has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gonzales is squeezing on Powell like an anaconda would it's prey. Powell fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
