Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dominic Leblanc! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan McKinnon! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKinnon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Leblanc, pushing him back against the cage. McKinnon unloads a knee to the mid-section. Leblanc lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. McKinnon is pressed up against the cage. Leblanc has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McKinnon down to the mat. McKinnon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Leblanc throws a sloppy head kick and McKinnon moves out of range easily. McKinnon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Leblanc, pushing him back against the cage. McKinnon lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Dominic Leblanc has been cut. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. McKinnon obliges. Knees in the clinch landing for McKinnon.
Leblanc drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McKinnon gets the underhooks and prevents it.
McKinnon looks to throw an elbow but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leblanc tries to score a body lock takedown but McKinnon shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominic Leblanc. That's going to take a lot out of him. McKinnon is pressed up against the cage. Leblanc has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McKinnon down to the mat. McKinnon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Leblanc is trying hard to land a takedown here. McKinnon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. McKinnon throws a sloppy head kick and Leblanc moves out of range easily. McKinnon moves into the clinch. McKinnon throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
McKinnon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. McKinnon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Leblanc is controlling him. Leblanc is looking to work some ground and pound but McKinnon has wrist control. Leblanc has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Leblanc throws a strike but McKinnon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. McKinnon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

McKinnon is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Leblanc has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. McKinnon is looking to defend but Leblanc has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for McKinnon! Leblanc pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, McKinnon taps out and this one is all over!
