Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Branden Lawrence!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence tries to close the distance and clinch but Mikel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mikel gets tackled into the cage by Lawrence. Lawrence maintains the clinch.
Lawrence is looking for a takedown.

Lawrence shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lawrence using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mikel has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Mikel pulls Lawrence into guard.
Mikel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lawrence manages to get himself to full guard.

Mikel is pushing down on Lawrence's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lawrence is fighting to maintain full guard but Mikel has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mikel stops Lawrence from getting back to his feet.

Mikel is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lawrence!
Poor strikes thrown by Mikel there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

After the fight, Pete Mikel was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
