0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, TJ Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, AXEL LIMA! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! LIMA misses with a kick to the body.
Sanchez fails in his attempt to clinch. Sanchez has LIMA up against the cage in a clinch.
Sanchez wants to get back to striking at distance but LIMA won't allow it.
LIMA tries for a takedown. No joy.
Sanchez pulls LIMA into guard.
LIMA won't allow Sanchez to sweep him here. Sanchez has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but LIMA has passed into side control.
LIMA stands up and beckons Sanchez to his feet. Sanchez looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Sanchez throws a strike but LIMA rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Sanchez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez thows a huge punch but LIMA dodges it nicely.
Sanchez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. LIMA blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sanchez. Sanchez is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, LIMA has managed to free his arm - good work. Sanchez tries to pass to full mount but LIMA defends it. Sanchez is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sanchez thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing LIMA to regain full guard. LIMA trying to control the position.
Sanchez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. LIMA seems keen to control Sanchez's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sanchez shoots in and drives through. LIMA sprawls well. LIMA chopping away at his opponent's legs.
LIMA throws a nice looking combination but Sanchez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. LIMA lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sanchez's sensitive parts. LIMA misses with a takedown and Sanchez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. LIMA trying to control here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sanchez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sanchez in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. LIMA tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Sanchez!
