The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix throws a left and a right that both miss
and Musampha counters by clinching up.
Phoenix has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Musampha prevents Phoenix from breaking the clinch.
Musampha tries for a takedown. No joy.
Musampha just leaning against Phoenix, taking a breather.
Phoenix tries to circle away but Musampha has him pinned against the cage.
Phoenix is trying to break the clinch but Musampha has him pressed against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Phoenix's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Musampha has Phoenix pressed against the cage, preventing Phoenix from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Musampha tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Musampha escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Phoenix misses with a wild combination.
Phoenix misses with a few strikes there.
Musampha closes this distance looking for a takedown but Phoenix circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Musampha shoots in and drives through. Phoenix sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Remy Musampha. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Phoenix throws a right and a left that both miss.
Musampha gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Musampha tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Phoenix is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Musampha buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Musampha!! Musampha is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Phoenix throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
