Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Pyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ervilha Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pyle comes into the arena with Bate Pesadão blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Pyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ervilha Silva!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Silva lands but Pyle takes it in his stride.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Pyle misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Silva throws a body kick that misses.
Silva throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Silva pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Silva looks to land a body kick but Pyle moved away.
Silva thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pyle if he has to take too many more of those.
Pyle gets a takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Silva is trying to stand up here but Pyle is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pyle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. Pyle eventually gives up the hold.
Pyle maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Silva could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Pyle has cracked it and Silva is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Pyle!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Richard Pyle!
A relieved looking Richard Pyle thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
