Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Bautista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Timmy Wysote!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bautista darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Wysote is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bautista pulls his head out easily.
Wysote is refusing to be controlled, as Bautista sits in half guard.
Bautista wants to free his trapped foot but Wysote is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bautista content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wysote looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Bautista thows a huge punch but Wysote dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bautista frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bautista wants to control the pace but Wysote is squirming around nicely.

Wysote defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bautista.
Wysote wants to control but Bautista is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bautista goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Wysote is on top in guard.

Wysote drops back looking for a leg! Bautista is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bautista manages to kick Wysote off! Wysote jumps back into Bautista's guard.
Wysote is looking to work some ground and pound but Bautista has wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wysote accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bautista not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Wysote drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wysote jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Wysote postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bautista is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wysote, into his guard.
Bautista trying to control the position from guard on top but Wysote is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of James Bautista.

Bautista scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Bautista dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Bautista closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wysote's guard.
Wysote keeping full guard, as Bautista tries to pass.
Bautista wants to stand but Wysote is controlling his posture from full guard.
Bautista trying to control the position from guard on top but Wysote is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bautista has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bautista is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Wysote has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Bautista is looking to defend but Wysote has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Bautista! Wysote pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Bautista taps out and this one is all over!
