Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Boon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Stephens! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stephens misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Boon, right into the meat.
Boon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stephens paws at him with a jab and circles away. Boon fails to land with a series of punches.
Boon is looking to clinch but Stephens is avoiding it.
Boon thows a body shot but no joy. Boon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boon tries to sprawl but Stephens drives through with a takedown into half guard. Boon is trying to maintain the position but Stephens is very close to passing his half guard. Boon is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stephens keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Stephens trying to mount his opponent but Boon defends it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stephens drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stephens prevents Boon from escaping the position. You can see the frustration on Boon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The strikes coming from Stephens are missing the target in this wave of attacks. A lull in the action here. Boon is trying to buck Stephens off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stephens content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Boon is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Boon is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Stephens is controlling him well. Boon manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stephens makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Stephens.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stephens manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stephens looks winded! Stephens looking to control and managing it successfully. Boon is trying to stand. Boon bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Boon wants to control from the top but Stephens keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boon advances position into side control! Stephens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Boon trying to control the action but Stephens is working from the bottom. Boon tries to advance to mount but Stephens denies him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bill Boon will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Stephens forces Boon back against the cage and clinches. Boon tries to break free but Stephens pushes him back against the cage. Boon is trying to break the clinch but Stephens has him pressed against the cage. Stephens has Boon pressed against the cage, preventing Boon from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Stephens breaks from the clinch.
Boon gets caught napping as Stephens dives in and scores a takedown. Boon manages to retain guard. Stephens must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Stephens would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Stephens content to stall in guard here. Stephens is breathing heavily. Stephens postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stephens is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Tony Stephens has got the better of the ground game so far. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Some wild striking there from Boon.
Boon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like Tony Stephens has been cut. Stephens shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Boon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stephens throws a strike but Boon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Stephens controls Boon momentarily but Boon frees himself. Boon trying to control the position from guard on top but Stephens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Boon tries to stand but Stephens is controlling from the bottom. Stephens trying to keep a closed guard but Boon is proving a slippery customer.
Boon passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Boon wants to free his trapped foot but Stephens is holding on for dear life with his legs. Boon trying to control from half guard but Stephens is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boon thows a huge punch but Stephens dodges it nicely.
Stephens is not content to let Boon control the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stephens can do anything to dispel that myth. It looks like Boon is going to stand back up.
Stephens wants to get back to full guard. Stephens is trying to maintain the position but Boon is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boon lands a slapping body shot.
Boon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bill Boon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Boon moves in looking to clinch but Stephens pushes him off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Boon throws a front kick that sends Stephens stumbling back into the cage. Boon lands a big head kick that sends Stephens tumbling to the mat! Boon takes a step backwards and waves Stephens back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Stephens is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stephens takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Stephens is still on wobbly legs! Can Boon finish him? Boon tries to clinch up but Stephens circles away and keeps his distance. Boon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boon thuds his shin into the meat of Stephens's side. Boon smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Bill Boon is winning the standup battle so far. Boon lands a brutal head kick. Stephens looks out on his feet and Boon throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Bill Boon!
