Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nils Holgersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Sypnewski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nils Holgersson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Igor Sypnewski!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holgersson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sypnewski's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Holgersson forces his way into half guard.

Holgersson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sypnewski defends it well.
Holgersson is looking to advance position but Sypnewski won't allow it.
Sypnewski keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Sypnewski avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Holgersson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sypnewski is trying to get back to full guard.
Holgersson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Holgersson wants to pass to mount but Sypnewski is defending the position.
Holgersson is keen to just control but Sypnewski is a slippery customer.

Holgersson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sypnewski is trying to control but can't.
Sypnewski is trying to stand up here but Holgersson is controlling him well.

Holgersson is looking to advance position but Sypnewski won't allow it.

Holgersson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Holgersson wants to free his trapped foot but Sypnewski is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sypnewski makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sypnewski.

Sypnewski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Holgersson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Holgersson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holgersson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sypnewski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Holgersson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Holgersson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Holgersson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sypnewski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sypnewski wants to stand and escape but Holgersson is having none of it.

Holgersson tries to free his leg and advance position but Sypnewski is retaining full guard.

Holgersson stops Sypnewski from standing up.
Holgersson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sypnewski manages to work his way to half guard, despite Holgersson's best efforts.

Holgersson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sypnewski doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Holgersson.
Holgersson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Holgersson lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nils Holgersson dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Holgersson misses with a two punch combination.
Sypnewski shoots in for a takedown but Holgersson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sypnewski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Holgersson's waist but Holgersson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sypnewski off to one side.
A big right from Holgersson misses.
Sypnewski shoots in for a double leg but Holgersson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nils Holgersson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Sypnewski.
Sypnewski moves out of range as Holgersson strikes.
A punch lands to the side of Sypnewski 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Nils Holgersson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice uppercut lands for Holgersson. That snapped Sypnewski's head back.
Sypnewski on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Sypnewski uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Holgersson.
Sypnewski fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sypnewski moves out of range of the strikes.
Sypnewski takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Holgersson throws a hook but Sypnewski blocks it.

Holgersson stuffs the takedown attempt from Sypnewski. Sypnewski gets slowly back to his feet.
Holgersson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Holgersson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sypnewski.


Sypnewski is rocked!
A slow jab from Holgersson misses its intended target.
Sypnewski is still on wobbly legs! Can Holgersson finish him?
Sypnewski gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Holgersson cracks Sypnewski on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Sypnewski falls backwards against the cage. Holgersson follows up with more strikes that drop Sypnewski to his knees. Holgersson keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Sypnewski! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nils Holgersson!
An out of breath Nils Holgersson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
