PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Divji Borec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Lyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borec comes to the cage accompanied by Carl orff - o fortuna. Lyle is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Who's your Daddy by Mook N Fair. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Divji Borec!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kyle Lyle!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borec tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lyle swivels and escapes.
Borec takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


It looks like Divji Borec has been cut.
Lyle cracks a nice hook into Borec's ribs.
Borec takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Borec shoots for a takedown but Lyle saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Danga de danga de dang - Lyle scores with a four punch combination!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lyle drops his shoulder and cracks Borec with a huge uppercut! Borec goes down! Can Lyle finish him?


Borec is rocked!
Lyle trying to stand up but can't free himself from Borec's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Lyle throwing strikes from guard but Borec blocks nicely.
Borec throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Borec has a closed guard, preventing Lyle from standing up.
Borec will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Borec looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Borec shoots in and drives through. Lyle sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Divji Borec. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Borec is breathing heavily.
Borec will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lyle swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lyle throws a right and a left that both miss.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lyle.
Lyle throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Lyle lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


Divji Borec's cut is getting worse.
Lyle rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Borec moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice shot by Lyle.
Borec throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lyle's waist but Lyle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Borec off to one side.
Lyle ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lyle fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A left and a right from Lyle both land. Nice combination.
Lyle lands a nice looking body shot.
Lyle throws a series of strikes that have Borec backpedaling.
Lyle with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Lyle lands a nice shot to the body.
Kyle Lyle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lyle lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


Divji Borec's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Lyle cracks Borec with an open hand slap.
Lyle scores with a one two! Borec had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Borec changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lyle looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Borec is looking to take a break and control but Lyle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lyle is looking to regain half guard here but Borec keeps moving and retains side control.
Lyle managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Borec.
Lyle is pushing Borec's head away, looking to escape. Borec manages to hold on to the position though.
Borec has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Borec thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Lyle wants to get back to his feet.
Lyle lands with an elbow strike from the bottom.

Borec in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Lyle is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Divji Borec!
