Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devon Ecks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirko Ledoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Devon Ecks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kirko Ledoy! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ecks tries to clinch there but Ledoy circles away.
Ledoy throws a combination. Ecks tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Ledoy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ecks moves away. Ledoy punishes Ecks's body with a nice straight punch. Ledoy shoots in looking for a takedown but Ecks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ledoy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ledoy fails to land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ecks is defended easily by Ledoy. Ecks shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ledoy is trying to defend but Ecks finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Ecks is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ledoy wants to control but Ecks is keeping busy.
Ledoy is trying to stand up here but Ecks is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ledoy is looking to get back to full guard here but Ecks has managed to pass to side control instead. Ecks trying to control the action but Ledoy is working from the bottom. Ledoy wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Ecks stands up. Ecks with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ledoy to score with a decent uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Ledoy. No joy for Ecks on that attempt. Ledoy wants to clinch up but Ecks keeps it at a distance. Ledoy scores with a shot to the body.
Ecks shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ledoy but Ledoy pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devon Ecks. That's going to take a lot out of him. A low kick from Ledoy is predictable there and Ecks counters with a three punch combo that has Ledoy backing up. Ledoy nods at Ecks to acknowledge the strikes. Ledoy avoids the head kick by Ecks.
Ecks closes the distance and clinches up with Ledoy, looking for a takedown. Ecks pushes Ledoy against the cage but Ledoy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ecks is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ecks wants to clinch up but Ledoy keeps it at a distance. Ecks shoots in but no luck this time. Ledoy doesn't manage to clinch there - Ecks circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ecks takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Ecks gets tackled into the cage by Ledoy. Ledoy maintains the clinch. Ledoy wants to get back to striking at distance but Ecks won't allow it.
Ledoy wants a takedown.
Ledoy manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Ledoy decides to pull guard. Ecks trying to control but Ledoy is working from the bottom. Ledoy doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ledoy wants to sweep here but Ecks controlling him for the moment. Ecks controls from within his opponent's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Devon Ecks just wasn't active enough. Ecks throws a sloppy head kick and Ledoy moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kirko Ledoy dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ledoy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ecks stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Ledoy takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ledoy shoots in for a takedown but Ecks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ledoy throws a head kick that misses. Ecks fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ecks shoots in for a takedown but Ledoy shows good takedown defense. Ledoy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ecks swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ecks gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ledoy to score an easy takedown into full guard. Ledoy gets to his feet. Ecks looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Devon Ecks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ecks takes a jab right on the kisser.
That's one minute gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Ledoy. Ledoy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ecks is not content to let Ledoy control the position. Ecks is looking to regain half guard here but Ledoy keeps moving and retains side control. Ecks is trying to control Ledoy's posture but Ledoy avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ledoy stands up and we're back to a striking position. Ecks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Good standup being displayed there by Ledoy as he connects with a hook. Ecks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ledoy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Ecks. No joy for Ledoy on that attempt. Ledoy drives through with a takedown into Ecks's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ecks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ledoy content to stall in guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ecks wants to sweep but no luck. Ledoy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Ecks is looking to stand up but Ledoy isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kirko Ledoy. Ledoy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ledoy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ecks napping and manages to drive through into side control! Ledoy lands a few punches from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ecks is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ledoy asserts his dominance and retains side control. Ledoy controlling from side mount. Ledoy wants to control but Ecks is keeping him busy. Ledoy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ecks to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ecks is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ledoy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kirko Ledoy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Ledoy lands with an uppercut that bounces Ecks off the cage and back into range. Ledoy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ecks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ledoy swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kirko Ledoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ecks avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ecks is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ecks lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ledoy circles away quickly and effectively. Ledoy throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ecks fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A decent looking cross lands there for Ledoy. Ledoy swats away the attempt to clinch by Ecks. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ledoy tests Ecks's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ecks has managed to clinch.
Ecks looking to throw knees to the head but Ledoy is blocking nicely.
Ecks wants to take the fight to the mat but Ledoy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Ecks fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devon Ecks. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ledoy is trying to push Ecks away but Ecks has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Ledoy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ecks has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ledoy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Ledoy manages to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ledoy fails to land the takedown. Ledoy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ecks goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Ledoy shoots in but no luck this time. Ledoy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ecks throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Ecks wants to control but Ledoy postures up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ledoy decides to take the fight back to the feet. Ecks tries to clinch but Ledoy is having none of it. Ledoy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ecks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Ledoy dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Ledoy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ecks's guard. Ecks working a defensive guard here.
Ledoy content to stall in guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ledoy stopping the sweep attempt from Ecks. Ecks can't keep his opponent in guard - Ledoy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ledoy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ledoy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ecks keeps working.
And that's the end of the fight! Kirko Ledoy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ledoy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
