Griffin throws a series of punches but Capone avoids them all with ease.
Al Capone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Capone takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Griffin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Capone gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Capone wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Griffin has him pressed against the cage.
Griffin lands a body punch in the clinch.
Capone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Capone looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Capone moves in looking to clinch but Griffin pushes him off.
Capone has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Griffin.
Capone swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Capone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Griffin swats him away and circles back towards the center.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Capone drops his hands momentarily and Griffin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Capone closes the distance but Griffin moves to the side
and Griffin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Capone misses with a jab, cross combination.
Griffin throws a right and a left that Capone avoids nicely.
Griffin tries to bum rush Capone with a series of wild strikes but Capone uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Capone lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Griffin circles away quickly and effectively.
Griffin misses with a two punch combination.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Griffin, right into the meat.
Griffin scores with a decent looking hook.
Capone misses with a double jab
so Griffin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Capone has momentary wrist control but Griffin slips an elbow through the middle.

Griffin passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Capone is not content to let Griffin control the position.
Capone throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Griffin blocks the strikes from Capone.
Capone tries to roll over but Griffin keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griffin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Capones jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Griffin sizes up Capone with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Griffin lands a hook that stumbles Capone back into the cage. Griffin follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Capone to the canvas! Griffin pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Capone has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
