PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Beetch Scruff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kyle Baker told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Scruff shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Baker defends it nicely.
Baker shoots in for a takedown but Scruff shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jab, jab by Scruff - just one landing.
Baker tries to clinch up but Scruff circles away and keeps his distance.
Scruff has a takedown stuffed.
Scruff feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bakers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Scruff stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Scruff wants it to stay on the feet.
A left lands for Scruff.
Baker tries to move into range but Scruff moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Scruff uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Baker has time to react.
Baker throws a leg kick which misses Scruff's front leg but catches the back leg as Scruff tries to avoid it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Baker tries to keep at a distance but Scruff has taken the fight into the clinch.

Scruff stalls.
Scruff wants to break the clinch but can't.
Baker misses with an elbow over the top.
A frustrated look appears on Scruff's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Baker stalling in the clinch but Scruff improves position.
Baker jumps guard but Scruff turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Beetch Scruff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Baker.

Baker breaks the clinch.
Baker is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Scruff.
Baker lands with a good body shot.

Scruff closes the distance and clinches.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Scruff.

Scruff is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Baker jumps guard but Scruff stands there with Baker around his waist. Baker gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Baker tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Baker has Scruff pressed against the cage, preventing Scruff from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Scruff wants to get back to striking at distance but Baker won't allow it.
Scruff looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Baker misses with a punch on the inside.
Baker has Scruff pressed against the cage, preventing Scruff from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Baker breaks the clinch.
Scruff lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Baker is rocked!

Scruff takes the fight into the clinch.
Baker tries to pull guard but Scruff forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Baker is looking for a takedown.
Baker looks winded!

Baker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Scruff scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Baker is still on wobbly legs! Can Scruff finish him?
A looping hook to the body misses from Baker. Scruff does a little dance to reset his feet.
Baker tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Scruff counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Scruff lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Baker falls backwards - clearly groggy! Scruff dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
