Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Amos Mutton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chew Backer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Amos Mutton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Chew Backer! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mutton shoots in for a double leg but Backer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Mutton shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mutton showed some decent athleticism there. Backer regains full guard. Nicely done. Mutton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Backer throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Mutton trying to control but Backer is working from the bottom. Mutton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Backer is keeping the position for now. Mutton postures up.
Backer is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Mutton won't allow Backer to sweep him here. Mutton scoring with some ground and pound. Mutton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mutton closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mutton lands in his opponent's guard. Mutton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Backer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Backer trying to control the position.
Backer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mutton is one step ahead there. Backer trying to keep a closed guard but Mutton is proving a slippery customer.
Mutton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Backer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mutton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Backer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Mutton trying to hold on to Backer's head to control him but Backer postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Backer is pressing down on Mutton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mutton is holding on for now. Mutton wants to control but Backer is keeping busy.
Mutton pushes Backer off looking to stand but Backer dives back in and keeps control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mutton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Backer circles away. Backer wants to clinch up but Mutton keeps it at a distance. Backer stuffs the takedown attempt from Mutton. Mutton gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Amos Mutton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Backer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mutton but Mutton pushes him off and we're back to square one. Backer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mutton tries to avoid it but Backer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mutton to the ground. Mutton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Backer lands a head kick!

That was a close round but I would say that Amos Mutton will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Backer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Backer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mutton closes the distance looking to clinch and Backer counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Backer comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Backer lands a left hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Backer with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Mutton tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Backer just stands there and leans against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Backer pulls Mutton into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Backer is on top in guard.
Mutton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Backer is pushing down on Mutton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mutton is fighting to maintain full guard but Backer has managed to sneak the leg through. Backer frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Mutton can't escape the position.

Backer is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mutton has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Backer avoids the attempt from Mutton to control. Mutton on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mutton tries to get out of the position. Mutton in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Backer throws some wild stikes that Mutton manages to avoid easily.
Mutton is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Backer cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Backer lands a big shot there that rocks Mutton but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mutton wants to control but Backer is having none of it. Mutton is looking to get to half guard. Mutton wants to control but Backer is having none of it. Backer throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mutton is looking to improve his position but Backer isn't that keen on the idea. Mutton tries to lock up and control but Backer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chew Backer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Mutton drops down looking for an ankle pick but Backer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mutton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Backer works his way to full guard. Good work. Backer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mutton is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Backer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mutton's back instead. Mutton trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Backer is trying to stick to Mutton's back but Mutton is turning into Backer. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Backer's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mutton. Mutton controls from within his opponent's guard. Mutton postures up.
