Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Roussow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Real Steel! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Roussow connects with a high kick. Roussow cracks Steel with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Steel throws a hook but Roussow avoids it easily. Roussow connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Roussow showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Steel.
Steel misses with a straight left. Mike Roussow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A lazy left from Roussow finds it's target. Steel misses with a straight left. Roussow really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Steel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Roussow thumps Steel with a low kick. Steel misses the shot to the body. Steel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A nice combination there by Steel.
Steel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Roussow. Roussow punishes Steel's body with a nice straight punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Roussow backs up against the cage.
Roussow slips a jab from Steel. Roussow slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Steel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Roussow.
Roussow lands with a shot to the body. A jab from Roussow does it's job there. Roussow throws a leg kick but Steel sees it coming and checks it nicely. Some wild striking there from Steel.
Roussow tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Steel misses with a double jab.
Roussow lands with an overhand left. Roussow scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Roussow lands with a shot to the body. Roussow jabs Steel right on the nose. Steel blinks but takes it well. Steel misses with a series of wild punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Steel misses with a body shot
and Roussow counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roussow stalls. A quick uppercut on the inside from Roussow. Roussow lands a nice knee to the body. Steel has had enough of the clinch but Roussow keeps him there for the moment. A right hook to the body lands for Roussow.
Roussow pulls guard effortlessly. Steel is sitting in close to Roussow's body. Roussow has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Steel is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Steel is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Roussow.
