Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kendo Nagasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kendo Nagasaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anderson Franklin!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nagasaki as he jumps to the side.

and Franklin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nagasaki won't be happy with that.
Nagasaki is looking to regain half guard here but Franklin keeps moving and retains side control.
Franklin gets to mount! Nagasaki was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Nagasaki bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Franklin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nagasaki is one step ahead there.
Nagasaki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Franklin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nagasaki drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Franklin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nagasaki has Franklin in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Franklin looking to sit in guard and control but Nagasaki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Nagasaki has gone for a leg lock! Franklin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nagasaki's guard.
Franklin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Nagasaki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Franklin!

Nagasaki wants to finish this one by submission but Franklin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Nagasaki.

Franklin tries to reverse the position but Nagasaki maintains control.

Nagasaki is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Franklin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Nagasaki is breathing heavily.
Franklin is trying desperately to improve position.
Nagasaki takes Franklin's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Franklin is in trouble.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Nagasaki is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Franklin knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Franklin for a finish.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nagasaki had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Franklin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nagasaki Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Franklin's back instead.

Nagasaki goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Franklin is on top in guard.
Franklin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nagasaki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Franklin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Franklin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Anderson Franklin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nagasaki throws a head kick that misses.

Franklin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Franklin lands in his opponent's guard.

Nagasaki has hold of Franklin's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Franklin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Nagasaki moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Franklin has worked his arm free - good work by Franklin!

Nagasaki decides to stand up, so the ref orders Franklin to his feet.

Nagasaki shoots and misses

and Franklin counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Nagasaki prevents the takedown attempt.

Nagasaki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Franklin avoids the head kick by Nagasaki.

Franklin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nagasaki's guard.

Nagasaki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Franklin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nagasaki wants to sweep here but Franklin controlling him for the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I would just about give that final round to Anderson Franklin.
Well Franklin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
