Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Guilherme Fonseca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cesar James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cesar James struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fonseca shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.
Fonseca is trying hard to land a takedown here. James sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fonseca tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fonseca somewhat.

Fonseca feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
James wants to stand and escape but Fonseca is having none of it.

Fonseca throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fonseca off to one side.

James lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

James tries to bench press Fonseca off him but Fonseca keeps the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
BOOM! Fonseca connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Guilherme Fonseca overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

James is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Fonseca lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


James is rocked!
James takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Fonseca's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

An out of breath Guilherme Fonseca thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
