Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Velasquez.
It looks like Tommy Gun has been cut.
Gun feints and then cracks Velasquez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Velasquez down.
Velasquez shoots in looking for a takedown. Gun tries to sprawl out of it but Velasquez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gun manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gun circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cain Velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Velasquez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gun napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Gun wants to get back to his feet.
Velasquez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gun knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Velasquez tries for a kimura but Gun is defending well.

Velasquez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gun has escaped the position, nice work there.
Velasquez creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Gun is trying to buck Velasquez off.
Velasquez looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gun is avoiding damage well.
Velasquez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Velasquez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Velasquez passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Gun!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Velasquez with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gun is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Velasquez locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Gun is forced to tap!

After winning the bout, Cain Velasquez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
