Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John MacTavish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Gosling! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gosling shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. MacTavish defends it nicely. Gosling closes the distance and clinches. MacTavish tries to break free but Gosling pushes him back against the cage. Gosling drops to a knee looking for a takedown but MacTavish gets the underhooks and prevents it.
MacTavish pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. MacTavish rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gosling moves out of range and avoids them all easily. MacTavish will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
John MacTavish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck with that takedown attempt from MacTavish. Gosling looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. John MacTavish has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Gosling. Gosling tries to clinch up. MacTavish shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gosling napping and manages to drive through into side control! Gosling is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacTavish scoring with punches from side control. MacTavish landing strikes. Gosling tries to buck MacTavish off but MacTavish is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. MacTavish cracks Gosling with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! MacTavish immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Gosling is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by MacTavish!
