Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ansgar Kurucz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralte Bentea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kurucz comes to the cage accompanied by Marek Ztraceny - Sex s Ex. Ralte Bentea told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ansgar Kurucz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralte Bentea!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bentea fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kurucz stalks Bentea and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bentea's face. Bentea staggers backwards, shaken.
Kurucz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kurucz wants it to stay on the feet.
Kurucz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kurucz tries a head kick but it misses.
Kurucz leaves Bentea with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ansgar Kurucz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ralte Bentea.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Kurucz.
Bentea shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bentea closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kurucz circles away.
Kurucz throws a leg kick which misses Bentea's front leg but catches the back leg as Bentea tries to avoid it.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kurucz.
Ralte Bentea seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kurucz throws a head kick that half lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bentea thows a huge punch but Kurucz dodges it nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bentea is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kurucz won't allow Bentea to pass to mount.
Bentea has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bentea throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kurucz to regain full guard.
Bentea throws a strike but Kurucz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bentea is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Kurucz wants to get up but he can't break Bentea's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bentea is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bentea wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Ralte Bentea hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kurucz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bentea, pushing him back against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bentea changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kurucz fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bentea changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kurucz tries to avoid it but Bentea manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kurucz to the ground. Kurucz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ralte Bentea dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kurucz is looking to clinch but Bentea is avoiding it.
Bentea gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kurucz counters with a low kick, right behind Bentea 's knee.
Bentea is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kurucz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ansgar Kurucz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bentea sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Bentea shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kurucz as he jumps to the side.

Bentea closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kurucz circles away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kurucz stuffs the takedown attempt from Bentea. Bentea gets slowly back to his feet.
Kurucz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bentea is breathing heavily.

Bentea will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kurucz throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Bentea is rocked!
Kurucz lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Bentea crumples to the floor! Kurucz milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ansgar Kurucz!
