The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dude misses with a wild combination.
Dude ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rayes moves away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rayes is defended easily by Dude.

Rayes swings for the body but Dude moves out of range.
Rayes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A slow jab from Dude misses its intended target.

Dude throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Rayes feints and as Dude raises his hands in defense, Rayes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rayes works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Rayes is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rayes wants to stand up but Dude is controlling the position.
Rayes passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Dude!
Rayes lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

It looks like Big Dude has been cut.

Rayes's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rayes cracks Dude with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Rayes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dude's face.
Rayes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
