Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lane Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeremy Pettis acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lane Brooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jeremy Pettis! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks tries to clinch but Pettis moves out of range. Brooks tries to clinch and Pettis counters with a nice body shot. Brooks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Brooks fails in his attempt to clinch. Brooks moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Pettis moves out of range of the body kick from Brooks.
Brooks moves in looking to clinch but Pettis pushes him off. Brooks has his takedown stuffed and Pettis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Brooks takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Pettis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pettis misses with the combination.
Brooks tries to clinch there but Pettis circles away.
Pettis dips to his left and cracks Brooks with an uppercut! This has been an exciting period of action! Pettis works Brooks's body with a nice hook. Brooks is looking to clinch but Pettis is avoiding it.
Horrible takedown by Brooks or perhaps it was just good defense by Pettis which made him look bad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Brooks is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Brooks takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Pettis throws a right and a left that both miss. Pettis misses with a few strikes there.

Pettis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pettis. Pettis circles away from the clinch attempt.

Pettis keeps the fight on the outside. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pettis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brooks. Brooks closes the distance looking to clinch and Pettis counters with a three punch combo that has Brooks backing up. Brooks nods at Pettis to acknowledge the strikes. Brooks misses with a takedown attempt - Pettis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lane Brooks. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pettis stuffs the takedown. Brooks tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pettis is able to avoid easily. Pettis tries to keep at a distance but Brooks has taken the fight into the clinch. Brooks jumps into guard, dragging Pettis to the mat.
Brooks wants to get back to his feet but Pettis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pettis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Brooks shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pettis but Pettis pushes him off and we're back to square one. Pettis scores with a jab to the head.
Brooks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pettis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Brooks wants to clinch. Brooks is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Brooks fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brooks is looking to clinch but Pettis is avoiding it.
Pettis throws a nice looking combination but Brooks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pettis tries to bum rush Brooks with a series of wild strikes but Brooks uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Brooks tries to close the distance and clinch but Pettis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pettis's jab looks to have found its range, popping Brooks under the eye. Brooks tries to clinch up and Pettis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Brooks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pettis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brooks somewhat. Brooks on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brooks dodges the punch combination from Pettis.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pettis circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeremy Pettis dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Brooks fails in his attempt to clinch. Brooks shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Pettis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Pettis lands a jab to the nose. A punch combination from Pettis misses. Brooks cracks the inside of Pettis's front leg. Brooks tries to clinch up and Pettis counters with a lovely straight right hand! Brooks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pettis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Brooks moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Sloppy strikes from Pettis. Those never looked like landing. Brooks tries to clinch up but Pettis circles away and keeps his distance. Pettis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pettis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brooks moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Brooks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jeremy Pettis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brooks takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Pettis stuffs the takedown attempt from Brooks. Brooks gets slowly back to his feet. Brooks throws a nice inside leg kick. Brooks looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Pettis is trying to stand.
Pettis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Brooks. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brooks is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Pettis is trying to stand back up but Brooks is controlling him

Brooks is trying to pull guard but Pettis has him pressed against the cage. Brooks is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pettis pulls him back up using the underhooks. Brooks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pettis walks away with a smile on his face. Brooks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Brooks wants to clinch and Pettis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pettis lands with an uppercut that bounces Brooks off the cage and back into range. Pettis throws a big shot that misses. Pettis throws a series of punches but Brooks avoids them all with ease. Pettis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pettis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Brooks stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Pettis swats away the attempt to clinch by Brooks. Brooks looks to clinch and Pettis counters with a three punch combo that has Brooks backing up. Brooks nods at Pettis to acknowledge the strikes. Brooks tries to clinch there but Pettis circles away.
Jeremy Pettis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pettis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pettis stalks Brooks and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Brooks's face. Brooks staggers backwards, shaken. Pettis shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brooks eats them both and turns towards Pettis to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Pettis is breathing heavily. Pettis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pettis throws a right hand that Brooks ducks under and follows up with a left that Brooks also avoids with ease. Brooks shoots in but no luck this time. Pettis works over Brooks's head and body with a nice combination. Pettis fails to land with a series of punches.
The fight stays on the outside here - Brooks looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pettis misses with a double jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pettis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pettis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pettis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Brooks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pettis misses with a series of wild punches.
Pettis throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Brooks on the side of the head. Brooks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pettis to the ground. Brooks is now in Pettis's guard. Brooks wants to control from the top but Pettis keeps moving. Brooks prevents Pettis from getting back to his feet. Pettis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brooks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pettis keeping moving, preventing Brooks from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lane Brooks. Pettis scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Pettis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Brooks instigates a clinch. Brooks putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Pettis in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Brooks landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Brooks keeps control of Pettis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Brooks tries to pull guard but Pettis holds him up against the cage and eventually Brooks drops back down to his feet.
Brooks tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pettis just stands there and leans against the cage. Brooks pulls Pettis into guard.

Lane Brooks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brooks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pettis defends well. Brooks throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pettis wants to get up but he can't break Brooks's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Brooks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pettis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Brooks has his foot on Pettis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pettis works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettis has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Brooks to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Pettis is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Brooks pulls down on the head and he's put Pettis to sleep! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Lane Brooks made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
