Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Duane Chode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chad Mendes has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Duane Chode's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Duane Chode!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chad Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes lunges at Chode with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Chode's hand.

Chode shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Chode throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mendes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chode. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chode postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chode throws a big elbow that misses.
Chode controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Chode slips nicely into half guard.
Chode slows the pace down in half guard.
Mendes is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Chode jumps into side control!
Chode really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ground and pound from Chode seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Chode will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Chode stands up.
Mendes tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Chode moves into the clinch.
Chode working hard to break the clinch.

Chode has a couple of punches blocked by Mendes.
Chode has Mendes pushed against the cage.
Mendes wants to stall.
Chode taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Chode gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Chode is looking to take a break and control but Mendes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mendes is trying to stand.
Chode passes the guard and advances to mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chode controlling from mount.

Chode is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mendes to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mendes shrugs it off.

Mendes wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Chode.
Mendes is looking to improve his position but Chode isn't that keen on the idea.
Chode throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Mendes because Chode loaded up on that one.
Mendes holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Chode tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Mendes avoids a series of strikes thrown by Chode.

Mendes looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Chode really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Mendes.
I really don't envy Mendes right now.
Will Chode go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Chode is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Some wild striking there from Mendes.
Mendes connects with a nice looking jab.
Mendes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chode tries to avoid it but Mendes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chode to the ground. Chode escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mendes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mendes wants it to stay on the feet.
Mendes shoots in looking for a takedown. Chode tries to sprawl out of it but Mendes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chode manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Chode fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mendes, pushing him back against the cage.

Mendes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chode shoots for a double leg takedown but Mendes sprawls well. He's pushed Chode's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Chode misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mendes is defended easily by Chode.
Duane Chode has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Mendes.
Chode displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mendes.
Mendes is breathing heavily.
Mendes looks to clinch

and Chode counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mendes won't be happy with that.
Chode tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Chode thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Chode stands up and beckons Mendes to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Mendes. No joy for Chode on that attempt.

Chode is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mendes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Chode decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mendes to his feet.

Chode shoots for a double leg takedown but Mendes sprawls well. He's pushed Chode's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mendes tries to clinch up.

Chode fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mendes, pushing him back against the cage.

Chode breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Chode counters with an outside leg kick.

Chode darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mendes is trying to maintain the position but Chode is very close to passing his half guard.
Chode tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mendes knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Chode passes to full mount!
Mendes regains half guard.
Mendes is trying to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chode shoots in and bounces Mendes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mendes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Chode throwing strikes from guard but Mendes blocks nicely.
Chode passes Mendes's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Chode is thwarting Mendes's attempts to control the position.
Chode wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mendes keeps working.
Duane Chode overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chode throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Chode missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Mendes is staying active underneath Chode, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Chode is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Chode sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Chode is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mendes sees it coming and defends easily.

Chode thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mendes's head.
Chode looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mendes tries to roll over but Chode keeps him under control.

Chode seems to be looking for submissions.

Chode is trying to work for a kimura but Mendes is defending well.
Mendes is trying to get back to full guard.
Chode is controlling the pace.
Chode thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mendes's head.

Chode is looking to take a break and control but Mendes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mendes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chode is working away from the top position though.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mendes shoots in looking for a takedown. Chode tries to sprawl out of it but Mendes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chode manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chode closes the distance and clinches up with Mendes, looking for a takedown. Chode pushes Mendes against the cage but Mendes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Duane Chode showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chode, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
